jersey in full effect!
a while back my man ed told me about a dope record by a jersey group called hardwe're.
"Dope production and hardcore rhymes. They talk on one track, where they seriously go after an ex-crew member, about how Jay-Z and Rocafella wanted to sign them but this guy fucked the thing up by refusing (R-O-C wanted the whole crew)"
after getting the twelve incher i knew what he meant.
the group includes k-mak (producer/dj) and hardwe're's "hype man" deuce (mc). i think after this 12" they did demo's for the main stream market for labels such as jive, def jam or roc-a-fella. k-mak began his hip-hop career as "little seven," a 13-year-old break dancer with the newark group hassan and 7-11.
i'm not sure what they are up to nowadays, but while james stokes (k-mak) runs his own clothing business at http://7flavaz.com, dante daily (deuce) teamed up with his younger brother bless to form a producer collabo named the soul diggaz.
my shit here is "real niggaz" of course. but "1, 2, 3 (corrupt thoughts)" is nice as well. i think this must be from '96 or '97. i'm sorry for the clean edit of 1, 2, 3.. my copy looks perfect but skips during the street version.
