here we go with our first remix package from france!

sp.cifyk sent me over these joints, which were made in '04. all tracks are produced by him except for the common remix, which is by dee wax.

spcifyk dj /producer from the south val de marne area (bonneuil sur marne). my passion for hip hop began in the early 80's by practicing dancing such as smurf and breakdance. then in the 90's i started doing graffiti for various projects.

after collecting records and lots of hip hop magazines i decided to buy some equipment and to build my own home studio in '96.

my influences are dj premier, dj spinna, large pro, pete rock, the uhmma, lord finesse, buckwild, the beatminerz, etc. but of course also other genres are very important in my beatmaking life. soul, funk, jazz and jazz rock to salsa, bossa nova, movie soundtracks to more obscure styles of music. okay, i received a mail from this guy called noyland from cologne/köln. he gave me a link to a few remixes he did last year. i checked them out and what happened was amazing. i was frozen in front of my computer for the next two days. i had to find out that i gave up on german rap too early a few years back. with noyland aka noy riches there is a whole record label called entourage with artists such as huss und hodn, stef der crashtest, o-flow, sylabil spill, veedelstar...

almighty google told me they already had over 100 tracks! so guess what i've been listening to the last few days.


unfortunately noyland never replied to my mail. i guess they are on tour. anyway, make sure you check them all out in case you didn't already.

the next remix session is here!

today we have pa-double from switzerland. for those, who didn't know– he is dj & producer of nefew (also known as emphacized prophecy). a swiss rap group with english raps.

Wassuup!! It’s PA-Double! I'm one of the founders of On Our Feet Ent./Out Of Frame Records plus DJ and producer of Nefew (formerly known as Emphacized Prophecy).

I started producing back in 1998 using just a computer with no multi tracking sound programm ( I think it was the wave-lab which came along with the PC, can’t remember exactly though). Now, I usualy work with Samplitude, MPC2000, microKorg, Plugins + additional live instruments we record in the On Our Feet Studio (Shouts to Polemikk!).

I did the beats for this remixes already a few years ago. The Children Of The Corn Remix was actually featured on one of my mixtapes tagged as „Harlem Mix“. Alkuttraz was looking for that 12“ for about 3 years, until I told him that I produced that track (He still hates me for that! Haha..) The other tracks were not ment to go as a remix but when Alkuttraz asked me to remix a few songs I just put them together. I hope you enjoy listening to them. Please get back at me with any feedback.

it's time for some super dope remixes! again, they come from a beatmaker out of germany called frankensteeno!

"Yo this is Frankensteeno, representing Müllebridge City in the Tri-Country Corn'. I've been making beats for about six or seven years now. I use Musicmaker, Wavelab and sometimes Reason to play a bass or something (shoutout to Skeletor... no expensive shit needed!). These remixes you're about to hear were mostly made between 2004 and 2007 I guess, the Mobb Deep one and McGruff - Exquisite are dated last year and McGruff - Creep is a new beat from august. I'm always lookin for samples that have a nice melody and that shiny feel on 'em, so there ain't no rugged and raw shit on here.

I hope you enjoy my beats, I definitely did while creating them... Feedback's appreciated.

and were back in business! after a short absence, i'm proud to anounce the third chapter of remixes done by the readers of crates of ag! this time we got none other than mister verge from the t.r.o.y. blog!

I must first apologize for the sound quality of most of these mp3s. They're radio rips from a show on WPRB that I used to co-host and they were produced from around 2003 to 2004. I've noticed that at that time I was doing a lot of beats that had slowed down samples.

Juggaknots Good Morning remix uses an extremely slowed down sample from a Jazz record that isn't too obscure. At the end of the song, if you're into 70's funk, you'll catch a clue of what was used.

Shabazz Death Be The Penalty remix also has a slowed down sample, but this time you can tell at a certain point. I thought it gave it a raw feel the way it seems to go off and get back on. You'll know what I mean when you hear it.

The Masta Killa remix was actually a guest verse from an Afu Ra cut. I guess I wasn't really feeling the Afu lyrics, so I took the Masta Killa verse and gave it it's own beat. Pretty simple, yet effective. I like how the change up comes in when he starts rhyming about the female.

For the Street Smartz Problemz remix, I gave it a chopped up to death soul sample. Nothing can compare to the og of this song, but I wanted to give it a bluesy feel to match the lyrics. I included the instrumental for this one because it was supposed to be used by an emcee, so I re hooked it a lot better.

Large Pro/J Love Rap Professionals remix is actually a pretty intricately chopped and re assembled beat. I hope to find that instrumental so you can really hear the little nuances that really make that beat good.

That Big L Put It On remix is actually the only one in high quality audio. I gotta thank Vaporized from Philaflava for re blending that one for me. I used a slowed down moaning sample from the Lord Of The Rings record from 1972.

Again, I apologize for the sound quality. I suffered a couple of very huge vinyl losses since these were created and no longer have ANY of these records to re do the remixes with. :( But if anyone really needs any of them, I'll do what I can. Thanks for listening. Peace, Verge

tru comers- the remix ep / competition

finally, switzerland enters the indy scene with a brillant remix ep by the tru comers! none other than the freestyle professors, the alps cru and the dysfunkshunal familee are featured on this little nugget here on comin tru records!

"two and a half years ago we did a remix project with beats of us no one intended to use. we added accapellas and here's the final result:

then in the beginning of 2008 we thought we should do another remix project– but this time on vinyl! so we asked several artists for exclusive accapellas and in the end we managed to get these three and then started to produce the beats for them. unfortunately the whole project really took its time...


the tru comers are dj sperrow and dj x-pert. we are producing beats since the age of 14/15 and we also did the scratches on this remixes.

This product is strictly non profit- we're even if we manage to sell each and every copy."

this time we have a personal favorite of mine from germany– dj skeletor aka indyvinylz (27). this guy's remixes are mad mad dope and we came here today to bless you with 15(!) re-edited indy tracks. crazy, right!?

"i produce since 10 years i guess..i use musicmaker and fruity loops..low budget ish ;)

all productions have the 90s feeling in it, cause thats what i feel when makin beats. most of my prodcutions are made out of feelings and emotions, so when i was happy and shit, i had other things in mind than makin a new beat. thats why 90% of my beats are mellow, sometimes sad, mystic or real grimey ! not really jazzy and happy stuff in here. i love the grimey and mellow mid 90s flava, so i guess thats why i produce stuff like this.

i make beats and remixes for my own listening pleasure, and to express myself, and maybe for self-made therapy purposes too, hehe. i really hope people can feel, what i felt when i made the beats. thats my main aim!!!! thats the same i do, when listening to a dope record.
