another nice compilation from toronto. 2 crazy mentall productions- the compilation vol. 2  was released on double vinyl in '97. goody here– you can also find "elixir" by abdominal, which was featured on his cassette only debut release one year later. i'm not sure if there was also a volume 1. maybe you guys know more?!

i've also seen a 12" from the same label from around '97/'98, plus there are at least 2 more 12"'s from 2000.

holy grail on a cold saturday

i have to admit, i bought this record pretty randomly in '08 on ebay from noz over at cocaine blunts. it then took me some time to realize that there was roc marciano spitting on the prophecy track. i remember last september, when our homie verge went mad on t.r.o.y. trying to id recordings he had from this 12". yeah, and a few weeks later this release resounded throughout the land.

this 12" on noose records has to be roc's debut release on vinyl with a second mc i can not identify (it can't be a member of the un crew, looking at the name). they call themselves kuku productions. on the flipside you have a group called zo & ox of which i know even less. each group has one track with 3 different mixes. all tracks are nice! but i stick to the radio and oxidation edits  of "the prophecy". man, i love roc's voice and flow!

time to reveal two missing joints on the year of the nine mix and darkside mix.

let me introduce all around incredibles with their two track twelve inch from '97. they are so incredible, that i could not find any info about them. apparently the rappers are nebulus & kwamclizm. production credits go to des black and k-carribean. i don't know if they had an earlier release as it says "all arounds the bomb remix" on the label.

a very dope record in my opinion!

wow, we're on fire!

first i wanted to make a post about the two odin 12 inches on foot stompin' records. but i found out these had already been covered on indie-cratez last september. also, i'm sure most of you have heard the two excellent brothers of the mind singles. well, what do all these records have in common? they were produced by a man called pal joey.

so what do i come up with...

did you know he released a full album with a group called bqe in 1997? unfortunately not on wax (?), but it's available for download on several mp3-sites. so out of respect i do not post the whole album here, only a bunch of dope tracks. also i downgraded the quality to 192k.

people, this lp is hot, i wish "king of the castle" and "last messiah" would have been released on vinyl back then!

now enjoy, and purchase the whole album afterwards!

da enfatry put out this 12" on 03/20/1997- well that's what the run-out says. not much info about the group. i think that was the only record they released. both tracks were produced by bnm (http://shaimond.com/), who later became a filmmaker too.

"I've always loved music, and I first made my mark in music as a DJ. From 1990-1998, I played at weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, reunions, etc. I produced for various Hip-Hop artists. In 1997, I released a Hip-Hop single (on vinyl) with the group Da Enfatry. I also produced songs for Kice of Course Hip-Hop debut album "Only a Few Will Understand" released in 2000. Musically, I used to use the name BNM, but now it's Shaimond. Around 2002, in addition to Hip Hop, I also started producing and writing R&B and Gospel music."
