since the last unknown track of volume 2 just got revealed, i thought i'd do a feature about it on coa.
it's pretty hard to find info about this record. obviously this ep, which is six tracks fresh, was put out by subrosa records, a london based label. but on the other hand it was recorded and mixed in brooklyn, ny. main feature on the record of course is blackmajik, but you'll find featurings by his due(?) fam members baby beretta, e-mega, cologne gotti, divine culture, justice & ill will. i'm not sure if the mc's are or were from the uk too. it's hard to say looking at their accents.
this ep with its hardcore vibe is a real gemm and pretty overlooked in my opinion. my tracks on here are "rotten apple" and "pass the axe".
please let us know, should you have more info about these cats.

I am BLACK MAJIK.......the orginal...do.fam.
"Introducin' The BlackMajik" EP was released in 1996 by BlackMajik hailing from Queens, NY. This is a 6-track EP produced by BlackMajik himself and released on the UK based label Subrosa Record, owned by Nick Harris. The rap pioneer Glenn 'Sweety G' Toby was the executive producer of the EP, but it seems he doesn't want to share info about this release... Anyway, the wax was recorded at Funky Slice Studios in Fort Greene Brooklyn and the EP features BlackMajik's partners Lord Emega, Baby Beretta, Cologne Gotti, Divine Culture, Ill Will and Justice, all members of the DU Fam. This is the only 12" released by BlackMajik... he disappeared from the Hip-Hop scene after that...
