"I'm excited to announce the release of the new EP from North Carolina's Omniscence!  I'm sure you are all familiar with Omniscence from his 90's releases such as the Funky One Liner EP, the singles 'Touch Y'all' and 'Amazin', and his long-unreleased album 'The Raw Factor' which is finally seeing the light of day thanks to Dope Folks.  This new EP release picks up from the 'Raw Factor 2.0' 7" single that I produced and released last year with Omni. There are a couple of versions of the record available including, different colours of vinyl, a limited edition instrumental record and an even more limited gold cassette. Everything is pressed and in stock, and will ship to you from the US.

i know we just had a batch of instrumentals- but i had to post this one too!

for the first time poland is steppin' up the instrumental section- make room for foka.

«just a crate digger, daily smoker and beatmaker from Łódź, poland. the title for this instrumental material was born in my head over a year ago, as a tribute to one of my all-time favorite lp's.

I wanted to make it a short instrumental ep and ended up with these 10 tracks, all of them based on samples from obscure jazz records and movie soundtracks.

the whole thing was made on akai s950/mpc2000xl combo and mixed at home.

shout out to funkrischi for the dope cuts and mr. krum for the artwork.

[instrumentals] tru comers ctr-002 / competition

as you may have read on our facebook page, i got a nice package from the tru comers in the mail this week! i have not been warned about this release before- so what is it all about?

«what’s good y‘all?! It’s been quite a while since our last release and during that period quite alot happened also. about 1 ½ years ago we moved our studio into a new location, added a lot of production-gear; we got into a new world of production and surrounding.

so actually that was the start of this new release event hough we didn’t know that at this time. We were just making beats allday ending up with tons of discs and many joints; to make a long story short: out of those beats we took 10, arranged and mixed them, added 2 skits and here you go: CTR-002!!! (btw they fucked up the runout and wrote CRT-022 instead of CTR-002, goddammit)

gear we used: mp2500, mp2000xl and the heart of our production environment 2x S950 and 2x sp1200. to us this project is kinda special cause it represents the crazy time we just been through. the whole record is kinda like a roadtrip through the last 1 ½ years. you probably gotta listen to the record several times to really grow into it and feel that ish. anyway, we just hope ya’ll enjoy the record!

another batch of them good beats. it's germany again. this time with funkrischi, 22 year old beatmaker from Saarbrücken.

"i listened to a lot of mixtapes and rap tracks during the 90ies- that's the reason i started djing and making beats. i always wanted to scratch like all the dj's did on those mixtapes. i loved the sound. so after getting my turntables and a mixer, i used to hang around at flea markets a lot- that's why i bought an mpc 2000 xl. shortly after that, i added an s950, an s1100 and an effect board. i love the sound of the 90ies...the crackling of the vinyl. that's why i still buy vinyl and why i haven't changed to be a digital dj.

i have to mention- the soulooption lp has a bad quality, because back then, when i recorded it at home in my room, i had no real possibilities to master it. i wanted it to be born in my room, without any help from outside. i keep it real ;)"

i tried to improve the soundquality a bit and added 6 essential bonus tracks to the lp from his soundcloud page.

the prosecution

here's a record i just played at home. 

the prosecution from rochester, ny. while «shady» comes with a more mellow touch beatwise (kool and the gang's summer madness sample one more time), «couldn't hang» is the dark part on this 12". nice jeru sample and hardcore rhyming. both tracks produced by g-wreck. it's from '94 on hip hop alley records. not everybody's taste– but i like it!
