BLANK FASIZ

interesting group from the providence area.

Blank Fasiz is made up of two members, the first being Aftamaf who believes that the music that Blank Fasiz puts out has to have a positive message. The other member is KWE, which stands for knowledge, wisdom, and equality. Blank Fasiz like many other artists have had to struggle, both financially and mentally. They have waited patiently, all the while, honing their craft and gathering knowledge and experiences. That is what makes them the hot-ticket in the hip-hop scene. They have a powerful positive message to give the listeners, and their fans are a loyal, positive following. They feel that the positive message in their lyrics is what makes their music unique. Blank Fasiz goes back to around 1995 when Aftamaf, KWE, and Mike Franco met in Providence. They formed the New Realm Record label, so that they could pursue their dream of positive hip-hop.They felt that the genre has far too much sex and violence in the lyrics, which is a bad influence for the youth. So, they undertook the self appointed position of teaching fans that a more positive type of hip-hop is in the groove. Blank Fasiz has a mission to complete, and we can expect to hear some powerful messages coming out of New Realm Records and Blank Fasiz.

here i have their first two releases from '98 (probably recorded in '97) on new realm records. somehow i never bought their «we came to blaze» ep from '99, which is solid as well. my winners are "mofa", "m.s.e.i.n.a.s." and "hartford park".

mc googly / poison ladd s.l.r. 2x12"

SOLID GROUND RECORDS PRESENTS

MC GOOGLY - BEATS IN GENERAL - POISON LADD S.L.R.  2x12" LP

Mc Googly – Aka – William Daniels ("The Public Enemy Of Philly") born and raised in Philadelphia, Pa. (North Philly) in 1967, moved to The logan section of Philadelphia in 1980, where he first witnessed hip hop at its finest. We’re talking 2 Turntables and a microphone. Well known Dj’s like Disco Rat, Disco Poo Sex Machine, would be off the hook with performances, with rappers, and rap groups.
His study of the rap game had him rapping at the early age of 13 sounding just as good as the older rappers. In 1983 he met Ronald Potts known then as Mc Rockwell (aka) Poison Ladd at Olney Highschool in Philadelphia where the challenge each other to take there skills to the next level. Shortly after, they met Wayne Rhoads know then as Big which they later named Extortionist B (aka) Beats In General and they formed a group (Boys Of Doom) they produced a sound that still today is ringing in the public ear. They were considered one of the hottest groups in philly at that time, but still no shine in 1984.
In 1987 the Boys Of Doom had to part due to Mc Googly’s incarceration which he did a 2 year sentence. His incarceration helped him perfect his rap skills, Mc Googly returned to the group B.O.D. in 1989 and recorded several solo songs but violated his parole and returned right back to prison until 1992. By then B.O.D. was no more, and Ronald Potts, & Wayne Rhoads became Poison Ladd S.L.R. – Beats In General., so Mc Googly moved on as a solo artist recording various hip hop songs throughout the 90’s. We hope you enjoy the many lost treasures of Mc Googly, One of the illest Mc’s of philly.

This release features a lost member of the crew Mc Googly “The Public Enemy of Philly”. This Ep features never released songs recorded 1989, 1994, 1995 & 1997. “Ghetto Soldiers” the Ep title track was the first song recorded under the OTR record label in 1989. That year Mc Googly was incarcerated and the record was never released. Added to this package is another classic unreleased 12” single, Black Pussy 1994 / Red Wagon 1993 & bonus verse Yo - Yo - Yo! “Black Pussy ” is Poison Ladd's view of the explicit encounters of a promiscous black woman. [instrumentals] bugseed / japan

bugseed, a japanese beatmaker from tokyo, contacted me a few weeks ago with a link to his actual instrumental album «bohemian beatnik». i checked it out and it blew me away. i haven't heard so many dope beats coming from one person in a long time. i wrote him back and regretted that i do not have something like an instrumental section on my page, where we could post these beats.

some time passed and i kept bumping those tracks on my ipod on a daily basis. one day i visited his myspace-page and boom...found another load of his beats on soundcloud. the case was clear now- i had to start an instrumental section on crates of ag.

and this is exactly what we are starting doing today!

if you want to know more about bugseed, check out an interview with him on 77e.org. but to quickly sum it up: he is 21 years young, started making beats 2 years ago and uses fruity loops 8. also we can expect a few more ep's this year, including a collaboration with raw stilus.

today, bugseed shares seven tracks with us, which are from his «bohemian beatnik» album and from his soundcloud beats.
