pitch black

these guys don't need a big introduction. i decided to post their first three releases here.

nightmare, g-man, fast kid & g.o.d. formed pitch black back in '94 and had their debut release one year later. with "hold me down" and "ashes to ashes" they put out an underground bomb with both cuts being produced by rich blak of the beatminerz.

PITCH BLACK 12" '95

1. HOLD ME DOWN
2. ASHES TO ASHES

two years later they made noise with a new ep with three new joints. again, this was produced by rich blak and put out on clear wax.

PITCH BLACK EP '97

1. A TIME TO KILL
2. I GOTCHA BACK (AKA HOLD ME DOWN)
3. ANALYZE THE PROGRAM
4. POLITIKIN

in '98 they got together with lord finesse to record their third release called "show & prove" which got pressed on clear wax as well.

PITCH BLACK 12" '98

1. SHOW & PROVE

d.g., devious, fast, g.o.d. and zakee returned in 2003 with primo's "it's all real" joint and released their debut lp in '04 entitled "pitch black law"

enjoy!

shadowz in the dark

here you go. i'm not sure when this came out...but it must have been around '97-'98. nick wiz and chrome are credited as producers on two tracks..i'm not sure who did the last one. on "snake charmers" you get a featuring by shabaam sahdeeq (he had a featuring by shadowz in the dark on his debut 12" "it could happen" in '96 as well). my joint here is "black clouds". but the whole record is really nice.

SHADOWZ IN THE DARK 12" '9x

1. FATIGEZ
2. BLACK CLOUDS
3. SNAKE CHARMERS (FEAT. SHABAAM SAHDEEQ)

from the same family there is a 1997 solo release by one of the members of shadowz in the dark and also member of shadez of brooklyn. snake aka bo-constricta comes with three joints all produced by cee and rich blak from the beatminerz fame. i like "rich + switch" and "the set-up darkside mix" best.

to be honest, i like the shadowz in the dark 12" more..but i have rarely seen this record on the web, so keep your eyes open.

SNAKE AKA BO-CONSTRICTA 12" '97

1. THE SET-UP (DARKSIDE MIX)
2. THE SET-UP (WEST COAST MIX)
3. RICH + SWITCH
